Japan steht im Zentrum der Foto- und Videoarbeiten, die Katja Stuke und Oliver Sieber in der Kunsthalle Gießen präsentieren. Neben dem gemeinsamen, stetig wachsenden Werkkomplex Japanese Lesson zeigen sie individuelle Projekte, die seit 2005 dort entstanden sind. Dabei reflektiert die Ausstellung die Bandbreite fotografischer Bildformen und Präsentationsweisen. Eine Besonderheit sind ihre umfänglichen Künstlerpublikationen, die sie erstmals vollständig in Form einer Installation ausstellen.

 

Katja Stuke (*1968 in Telgte) und Oliver Sieber (*1966 in Düsseldorf) leben und arbeiten in Düsseldorf. Sie sind als Künstler und Fotografen, Kuratoren und Ausstellungsmacher sowie als Herausgeber von Künstlerbüchern tätig.

 

The photographic and video work presented by Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber at the Kunsthalle Gießen focusses on Japan. In addition to their ongoing joint body of work Japanese Lesson, they will also show individual projects created in Japan since 2005. The exhibition reflects a wide range of forms of photographic images and presentation. A special feature of the exhibition is the extensive collection of their artist publications that will be displayed for the first time in their entirety as an installation.

 

Katja Stuke (*1968 in Telgte) and Oliver Sieber (*1966 in Düsseldorf) live and work in Düsseldorf. They are actively engaged as artists and photographers, curators and exhibition organisers as well as publishers of artists' books.
